UFL Fantasy football

No, there is no UFL Fantasy football...yet. Nor is there a UFL video game or very much in the way of merchandise. I'm sure the UFL is thinking about all of these things. I would.
I always wonder about the marketing behind these sorts of properties. Do you go for the market saturation now, or focus on your primary mission and let popularity take you in other directions.
The NFL has, at one time or another, tried about every marketing and merchandise angle there is. Do you remember the Fridge Perry GI Joe figure? I do. Or the Marvel Comics "Superpro" title.
If I were to guess...I would say focus on the key mission first. Stage good football and get it where people could see it. Take advantage of the viral marketing that the internet can provide. Move to merchandise next (apparel is constant advertising and not too expensive to provide these days - think cafepress). After that, I would think the other issues would follow.
Maybe there will be opportunities for some poor blogger to get involved in the conversation.
